If you work with Adsense you probably know that sometimes Adsense CPC and RPM can go up and down for 20-50% in the same day, but day after that everything is normal again.

Well, when I visited Google forum yesterday I saw tons of threads about low January earnings, low RPM and low CPC these days.

So I decided to write this article about this thing happening right now, because I survived it 7 times, 7 years.

I will try to explain it for newbies, so you can understand it even if you are not an Adsense partner.

Short Explanation of this Problem

I use Adsense for 7 years now and every year resulted with low earnings in Q1, well, at least first 2 months were always really bad.

So, what is this about, is this about your website or some other factor?

Advertisers, almost 90% of them are selling their goods, promoting special offers and coupons for holidays, and they spend almost 70% of their marketing budget for Black Fridays, November and December.

I own 80+ Adsense niche blogs and all of them are in different niches, so all of them are getting different CPC and RPM from Adsense.

It’s perfectly normal for 90% niches that you get 20-50% more income with Adsense in November and December.

Also, it’s perfectly normal to get 20-50% decrease in January and February, because advertisers budget is low, and most of them are advertising their offers (products) only in November and December.

So, don’t worry, and keep working on your sites, January and February will give you low CPC and RPM but March and April will result 10-20% increase in revenue, and you will be good.

How to Get more Revenue in Q1?

make money with ptc sites

If you run niche sites there are many ways to monetize your website, and some of them are Amazon Affiliate, Infolinks, direct sales and some other advertising methods.

You can try combining Adsense with some other networks in order to make more money in these first few months.

Click here to read my Infolinks Review, you can use Infolinks together with Adsense on your website, and you can make money every day with this network.

If you have lot of text on your website Infolinks would be a nice solution for you.

Also, consider using Amazon Affiliates on your websites if you run products niche sites.

Try Amazon Recommended ads and Amazon CPM ads, but use CPM ads only if you have more than 5000 visitors on your website.
